No! Our tubes are certified 100% compostable.
Our soup, stew and risotto and pudding tubes are bespokely made from a product called Armourthene Zero. They will not biodegrade until they’re in the ground and in an oxygen free zone. They will break down over time and leave no residue.

You can check them out here armourthene® ZERO – Armourthene if you’d like more information.
This is a new packaging product for us as we used to use NatureFlex. It took us two years to find NatureFlex and ensure that it was strong enough to keep our layers intact, and our products stable. Its wasn’t advisable to get them wet, so when we were on a market or at a food festival it was a little tricky if it rained! Don’t worry – our carrier bags are 100% biodegradable too, however they take a little longer to break down. Armourthene was new in 2024 and was sourced as an alternative to NatureFlex as it doesn’t start to break down in different temperatures, So better for our products.
Currently you’ll need to remove the product label and cable-tie as these are not yet compostable, they need to go in your normal rubbish. We’re working on this too, but they’re still really expensive to purchase. We’re keeping an eye on the costs though and will make the change when its financially viable to do so.
We also use as many recycled packaging products as we can, and are looking for a more sustainable friendly Sellotape to keep our boxes secure.
