From humble beginnings
Andy and Karen holiday in Canada, visiting craft fairs and local markets. On their friend Becci's veranda, Kandy Kitchen Creations was born.
Back home, the first soups, stews, risottos and puddings are developed at the kitchen table and sold at local fairs.
Voted New Business of the Year at the Rochdale Business Awards.
Moved from the kitchen table into a small manufacturing unit.
Appeared on BBC's Dragons' Den, Series 19, Episode 3. Moved into a bigger unit and built our team.
FSB Microbusiness of the Year finalist, and Karen named Business Person of the Year at the Rochdale Business Awards.
A major rebrand: Crafty Cook is born, a nod to the artisan way products are handmade, and how easy they are to make.
Still proudly handmade in the UK by the team, ably supported by Andy and Karen's family.

From real kitchens
We love the risottos from here, we found them purely by accident in a lovely garden centre deli, and now started buying them online, and as they are from my hometown it would be rude not too! Highly recommend the pine nut and the spicy chicken satay they are fabulous, I won’t ever buy these kits from anywhere else in future, we even bought two direct to take to France so we can share them with family! Simply fab
I’ve recently discovered the risotto mixes by Crafty Cook and they are fabulous!! So easy to make, just add water & stir…. It’s so easy & tasty that it feels like a cheat meal but looks & tastes homemade. The spicy satay risotto was delicious with some added roast chicken thighs. Tonight we had the pine nut risotto with stuffed chicken breasts, a family favourite. I can’t wait to try the full range, I’ll be ordering more tomorrow!! 😋
I've been having these for a while now. They are so quick and easy to prepare and there hasn't been any we haven't liked. They are a good size.and I have even used then in gifts occasionally. Would highly reccomend!
I love to cook from scratch, but these are brilliant when time is short , they are also brilliant if you going on a self catering holiday, saves you taking loads ingredients or buying loads of groceries, just take a few of these then you just need to buy some meat or veg , Definitely highly recommended by me
Difficult to decide what to get because everything sound good. Additionally nice staff told me exactly how to prepare. Would recommend
